Currently I try to achieve an uber type lather, with minimal product. So just one soap. Creams tend to contain a few nasties which again I try to avoid. Another interesting thought is to consider how a thinner lather or less cushion may improve the closeness of your shaves. Just a thought as it is a YMMV kind of thing.

I've tried mixing it up with a thinner lather and at times have added a spot of glycerine to my brush post load with a soap and I can't make up my mind what I like best cos the all feel good. But will defo go for the blue goats milk soap. @Billyfergie very grateful for the link sir :notworthy: i've found so many resorting to sell the soap not sure which is kohser

I'm not much of a cream man but I have one cream that is fantastic, it comes out maybe once every three weeks and it performs very well and leaves me with a great after shave feeling and that is the Myrsol cream, lots of lanolin and glycerine. It lathers freely but requires very little in the way of water, seems to work really well with synthetics.

Only slight glitch is it comes in 1kg tubs.

It's been some years since I used them but Truefitts creams still stand out in my minds as being good, with nice scents.

TOBS, in particular the avocado and aloe variants which offer great skin care
Rose & Herbs of Bulgaria, great slickness and very natural scents
Bodyshop Macca Root, a good performer and great value when on promotion
Supermax Classic, another reasonable all-rounder and at £1 per tube great VFM

Agreed. I have their Almond Cream and it is not the sweeter marzipan of say Cella (which I do like btw), but a more natural almond. I like both.

Castle Forbes lavender is pretty much the only cream I use, the performance is excellent and it smells like a lavender bush.

Agreed ....never have I smelt a lavender scent so natural as Castle Forbes and they only make it in very small batches. It sells out quickly but it's soon restocked

Yeah Castle Forbes is as close to lavender fields in the south of France to me. It is a superb cream as well, one of the very best.
