That’s my thinking. I certainly don’t want loads that just sit there.
At that point it might be worth playing with the hardware in my mind, though I can see me ending up with a Tech and one brush, when I would so love a couple of highly finished works of art as my daily drivers.

I have bought 100 Voskhod and 50 polsilver before. I'm running very low on blades and will need to order before long. I'm considering ordering 100-150 which will see me just over a year supply. I may end up ordering more though.

Yes... My end game is definitely 1 razor, 1 blade type, 1 soap, but I feel a long way off.

Similarly I hate to have stuff just sat there or feeling like a waste of money so I will force myself to use everything up now before purchasing more - though there's always the latest-and-greatest being hyped and it's difficult to resist because who doesn't want to find "the best", if only for them.

I know it's a mundane choice but I can really see me sticking with the Rockwell 6S in the long-term. I don't need jewellery, just something that works reliably a feels somewhat better-than-basic.

Blades, soaps, etc... I can't even see an end in sight of exploration right now, going to take me a while even to really get to know what I've got.

Not so much jewellery, more I like to see something crafted and created with passion and a vision, with a great finish. Then I need two of them, just in case..... The trouble is, I seem to get on very well with basic (loving my Tech).
Same with the brush, two the same, in case......
Soaps, I don’t mind a few for variation in scent and mood.
But at the moment I’m struggling to see an end to blade testing :roflmao:

200 Polsilver SI alongside 100 Gillette Silver Blues at a time when I had just begun to use DE razors - great blades and I am now down to my remaining few of each

Do you chaps buy your blades of eBay or dedicated shaving sites? Reason being the last lot I purchased of eBay didn't feel the same and in some cases (e.g. Sputnik, Astra and Shark) the etching did not look the same either as the originals.

Just ordered 200 Gillette 7 O'clock greens, again from eBay, hoping these will be good.

The etching looked different, but did they perform as expected?

Depends upon the blade. Polsilvers, Voskhods, and Permasharps from Gemstone Trading on ebay, Feathers from Brian.

I do go for some quality merchandise myself, don't get me wrong, especially if it's a kind of "this is my only one" thing - why not have the one you absolutely want.

I don't see how I'll ever upgrade though, because I'm not going to drop £150+ on a razor I haven't tried or at least held in the flesh, and these things aren't really knocking about locally to me to go and see them. Buying off reviews, especially in this game, is so risky.

I'm pretty happy with my shaves, at least I think so, but there is always that itch that maybe there's something better of course.

Always thinking...
