What do we all do for a living?

IT nomad, travelling all across Europe for customer implementations of our software. Which is why I have an interest in cartridge razors and synthetic brushes. In practice I usually check in my trolley, so I mainly use a DE razor, also when travelling.

I think Tommo (a fellow man of the South West, by the way) is one of the very few who isn't employed as a very important and over qualified management consultant, a senior head honcho of an extremely well known I.T. corporation or a NASA astronaut instructor specialising inter-galactic flight plans. Maybe those more modestly employed... or unemployed... are less disposed to advertise the fact? :)

I'm slightly reminded of the "what watch are we all wearing today?" threads where most contributions are exquisitely posed showing a perfectly composed and tasteful background illustrating a watch that cost more than most people's houses. It's refreshing (to me at least) when someone exhibits a Timex photographed on their kitchen worktop with a bit of kettle and toaster accidentally included in the composition.

(I'm retired and tell the time from a Pulsar ... next one up from Lorus, but down a step from Seiko). .... another smiley required, I think :- :) )

To be honest, I am not sure what to make of this post. You surely don't mean there is anything wrong with IT consultants (like me), management consultants, or lawyers frequenting this board? ;-)

I do have a number of Seiko 5 and Orient watches, which I like just as much as my Omega and Longines watches. There is no law stating that you may only enjoy either expensive or affordable time pieces ;-) I make an exception for pens; no cheapo ballpoint pens in my bag. Give me a good fountain pen or mechanical pencil any day.

In other words, not sure what you mean. In my case, "IT consultant" is only my profession, and it is not who I am.
