How many times have you used Tabac Chris? Took me some time to get into it but I grew to love it.1. Don't sacrifice comfort for economy - an extra day's blade life isn't worth shaving rash.
2. I'm trying to like Tabac but can't get accustomed to the smell.

Chris
Couldn't agree more. It was @Nishy that advised to lather longer, 3-4 mins and it made a phenomenol difference to performance. When I think I've whipped up a good lather, I carry on for a little longer just to be certain. Less chance of the lather dissipating resulting in a more comfortable shave.![]()

I've just had a Tabac shave, maybe you need the after shave too!Gordy,
I've used it six or seven times so far. The performance is excellent but I find that smell distinctly odd. It's early days and I may grow to love it before it runs out but it's not happening yet.
Now Wickham 1912....wonderful experience, its reputation is justly deserved.

Chris
Had another fantastic shave with Wickham Russian Leather today but a good excuse to research the other scents.I've just had a Tabac shave, maybe you need the after shave too!
Wickham's 1912 Parma Violet ......best.......soap.......ever!
I'm using the same refil but it's all the same. I just think it has to click with you but I appreciate the scent more when I'm encompassed by it during and after the shave. It's a heady cocktail for sure but it's complex, and one of these days you'll pick out something that connects with you. The after shave is an excellent product skincare wise too, very protective but not at all greasy. It just continues the post shave feel.Had another fantastic shave with Wickham Russian Leather today but a good excuse to research the other scents.
I'm using the Tabac soap refill, does the shaving stick smell different? If the aftershave scent is the same I couldn't say I'd welcome odd smell overdrive.

Chris
It may click in time, I'll stick at it for now. If Tabac made an unscented soap it wouldn't be a problem.I'm using the same refil but it's all the same. 1912 is a different thing altogether, it's an unbelievable product, so light, so fragrant, so protective. It's the one that really makes you feel suited, booted and ready for anything.
The Fine Accoutrement soaps are made on the same base, and perform the same so you could whatever scent you prefer there. I doubt for that there's anything nicer than L'Orange Noir.It may click in time, I'll stick at it for now. If Tabac made an unscented soap it wouldn't be a problem.
