Hello there

I’ve been out of the loop for months, if not years. I’ve a two year old and life has been hectic (in a good way).

So whats in fashion these days? Hardware, ss razors are still top bannana? Are there loads of Artisan soap makers popping up? I’m still making my way through Wickhams soap. Did Voskhods actually stop production.

Come on, give me the goss.

A couple of new razors have taken the tops spots, Karve and Charcoal. Grooming Department and Soapy Science soaps have gone down well.
Voskhods are still available as far as I know!

Welcome back and congrats on starting the family. It does seem that ss razors are all the rage with new ones coming out all the time. And yes, loads and loads of artisan soaps are everywhere. Too many to name here. You just have to spend a little time in the soap threads and you'll quickly read about the ones that seem to have the qualities you are looking for. Just buy samples before you buy a full tub. You'll save yourself a boatload of money. And I have not heard of Voskhod stopping production. In fact, it is one of my two favorite blades along with Gillette Silver Blues. Both made in Russia. It can seem overwhelming but is manageable so long as you just don't feel the need to try every single soap that you read about. Welcome back.

Get real man! Vintage still rules, and always will, if your razor ain't brass you may as well not shave. The best brushes are vintage boar, soap is soap, buy the cheapest stuff you can find, and there are plenty of good blades to choose from. Rock on bubba!!!

Hey Chris and welcome back :) Hope all is well with parents and junior!?

We’re all crazy about the latest seven blade cart razor and vintage cans of goo. Join the bandwagon! No, really: New razors, new fads, thus nothing new really.

It’s all about ‘special and limited editions’ trying to keep those hype trains moving, the fear of missing out, seasonal releases that may not be repeated, collaborations, once it’s gone it’s gone, etc etc.
Hardware wise, Wolfman has brought something else out you can’t actually buy unless you can be arsed to put some form of surveillance on his website. It’s amazing of course although nobody has one.
Haven’t seen anyone shilling any brushes lately, which is surprising, although I don’t really keep any tabs on that area.

Razors made from a special alloy containing Beryllium, Molybdenum and the rare earth metal Unobtainium selling out before you can finish entering your credit card details, even when you wait up for the release at 04:00 GMT

Brushes hand made on a pole lathe by an artisan who produces a handful of pieces a year when he is on day release from a secure unit. The introduction of the said artisans own pubic hair into the hand tied knot is said to aid flow through and gives these brushes a unique rarity and price

Dodo tallow soaps produced with the rarest botanicals and essential oils to give a unique scent and shaving experience. The maker in reality drives down to Asda every few weeks and picks up lard and economy potpourri oils in bulk and mixes the whole lot up in a black plastic bucket in his former outside toilet
