I have an old Seiko dive watch that I purchased when overseas in The Pacific in 1970.. Have not used it in years, and needs a service, bezel is loose and glass scratched, and minute hand lume is poor. Does any one know of restorer who can service watch and do minimum to keep it original..
I understand that this may have been referred to as a “ Captain Willard”, after character in a Film.

As you have kept it so long it has meaning to you yes. Resale wise and value don’t really come in to it if you like something enough to keep it.

The Willard is quite desirable, only fella I know of is the Watch Professional.
You could try him. He’s a bit more ‘high end’ but his prices are very reasonable.

Thanks for heads up. The watch served me well during my time in HMF, working in Gilbert Islands, Solomon Islands and more mundane postings working on construction tasks.
