Which free antivirus would you recommend, excluding Windows Defender?
I just use Windows Security and do regular manual sweeps with Malwarebytes free to download AdwCleaner, which is a great product for finding and removing nastiness which has come via the internet

I bought a Malwarebytes lifetime license about 15 years ago for ONLY one device (one computer), lucky me, before Malwarebytes stopped giving out lifetime license for all Malwarebytes premium (standard) version platform.

I would strongly advise getting a VPN I use Cyberghost, I pay a £60 2-year subscription, and I run it when needed on my Amazon Fire TV Stick, on my PC and phone. I run an app on my Fire TV Stick which gives me access to all TV channels, including every major subscription TV sports films everything, so the VPN stops my Sky TV subscription, which I have my broadband with, from tracking, spying and blocking me.

I found Kaspersky VPN pretty good, used it for over a year now. You can usually find a good deal, think I paid £4.99 for a years subscription last time (never pay the RRP, sign up for the newsletter etc and await a deal.)

I wouldn't be using Kaspersky given the current situation.

For us here in mainland China, VPN is mandatory. Without it, you cannot even have the basics.

In China providers and apps like Google, WhatsApp, YouTube, etc. are fully blocked.
Same goes for a large number of international websites.

For anyone who plans to come here for work or at least for a few months stay or more, they should install the VPN app before entering mainland China.
Once you get in and then try to download a VPN installation file, the block is already activated and you are left stranded.

Some VPN providers do have specific websites for those who live in China and do want to download the app installation file for the first time, but not everyone is aware of this.

In addition, few VPN provider apps do actually work effectively in China. And this also not everyone knows.
Before entering China I subscribed to Express VPN, only to arrive here and discover that it practically worked in one out of ten log-in attempts on average.

Then a colleague told me about ASTRILL VPN, and I am still with that.
I have also heard that LET'S VPN is also pretty ok, and this has been around for years.

Third point to note, again for China, is that once VPN is on then all the local Chinese apps either cease to function or function partially.

All mobile phones and computers available in the Chinese mainland market are by default blocked re Google, YouTube, etc.
Therefore if any visitors here wish to buy this type of gear then they should look to make a purchase in Hong Kong, etc. - global version of the phone or tablet you prefer of course.

Every time I try to upload pictures I have to turn VPN on for postimg.cc to work.
But then ATG logs me out once the VPN is activated...

Sounds like Chinese government doesn’t want their citizens to use VPN, because, they’re big brothers government watching and spying on you 24/7.
