OK, just about what I thought you'd say. Being Canadian, I won't apologize to a Canadian vet for what some feel is going on in the US. I could say more but this is a shave forum not a political one.

I served 5 years in the USMC with two deployments to the Middle East. Combat zones.
Yet I should have someone apologize to a vet of WWII for me for what I'm doing to his sacrifice?

You're OTT. I never implied that as one of the 1% of Americans who have served their country throughout our history, that you had anything to apologise for. I was referring to the 'woke' segment of your generation who take offence at everything, and impugn those who disagree with them with sobriquets that are the hallmark of the Left. Finding offence where none was intended is not a quality of someone who espouses 'Semper Fi'. I don't know what you were fighting for in the Middle East, but I'm pretty sure the WWII vet didn't fight for 'wokeness'; even if he is Canadian.

This is about a WWII Vet, not how the youth are lost to the indoctrination of the mamby pamby youth of today.
Not only would I send this gent a card, if he is my half of Canada, Id go visit the ole bugger.
Every WWII Vet Ive known has pasted. Ive met not only Americans like my ole man and his bunch, by WWII vets from around the world.
They hold the truth about the world and global war. Its coming in your life time. Prepare or parish
Hey Steve, My grand son is a serving Jarhead. He is a millennial. He was like the rest, but one day he desired to join the ranks of all the men that have served in our family. My great grandfather was in WWII, he got here in 1911, and joined the famous Haller's Army" My father was in the 6th Marine div in WWII from 16-20 years old he did stuff we can not imagine. His son did 20 years, some overseas. A tour in Asia, and Europe.
Tho the kid is in the Marines and making something of himself, he lacks respect for elders, spends all his cash on video games, he is still a punk kid, doing what he thinks is right.
The rest of them are in their mum's basement, not doing anything but voting communist.
You are in the 1% club, good job.
