I recently bought a new BMW which had Hankook
tyres.
I have to say i was hugely disappointed but all BMW’s are using Hankook or they certainly all have them in this showroom.
i haven’t done a lot of milage yet but the reviews seem pretty positive
I had a new BMW in 2009, the car was great, the tyres were junk being runflats, I had more punctures in those two years than ever before, tyre dealers didn't keep them in stock so you either had to crawl home or make arrangements.

I spoke to other owners and they were making the change to normal tyres and putting a spare, a brace and a jack in the boot.

That’s a great shout
at over £300 per tyre i’m not overly keen.
plus 22” Alloys so not as smooth a ride as it should be.
So far iv no actual complaints about the tyres iv done less than 1000 miles but time will tell.
Iv had run flats in my two previous cars & been lucky not to have any punctures

The stiff walls of the run flats plus the large wheels and stiff suspension meant that I couldn't reach out and touch the screen to change any setting my forefinger was moving too much even on a motorway.

No other complaints about the car, rubbish in the snow though.

On new vehicles you don't have a choice of what tire make comes with the vehicle. A car maker buys the tires by the thousands or more for a production run from a tire maker for the best price they can get for a volume sale. The tires need only to meet government standards for safety.

They’re more important than that. ALL tyres are tuned to compliment the characteristics the vehicle manufacturer wants. The Conti Sport Contact 2 that come on a car (all cars from the manufacturer I work for not just sports cars) are NOT the same as an after market Sport Contact 2, I’ve seen sidewalls half the thickness on an OEM tyre vs an aftermarket version to improve the ride.
Your car will never perform the same ☹

I believe Porsche allow you to purchase (or maybe even mandate) OEM tyres rather than aftermarket ones.

I wonder which tires are tuned to compliment my '99 Tahoe? There are tire models that are discontinued or upgraded that would seem to render any manufacturers use of a specifically tuned tire moot.
