I agree, but it’s objectively this was a superb show, and episodes in isolation there isn’t much better.Peak Star Wars was The Empire Strikes Back.
I often listen to soundtrack scores when shaving, Andor has an excellent score

We started watching the much hyped Thursday Murder Club the other evening but gave up after about 15 minutes as it was so poor.
How such a group of high profile actors could become involved in such tosh is beyond me. In fact, over egging the pudding was part of the problem as the sum was far less than the parts. F’r instance, I like David Tennant but his property developer character was so OTT as to be into the realms of caricature. (Unless that was the point?)
We’ve both read the book, but none of the follow ups, and it passed the time adequately enough. Even so, it wasn’t worth all this effort and expense.
Bring back Midsomer Murders I say!

Re-watched all five series of the French language ‘Le Bureau des Legends’ over the last couple of weeks on Paramount. It ran between 2014 and 2020 with a really interesting and prescient storyline. Prime recently showed an anglicised version set in the CIA but it’s nowhere near as good.
One moan I have is that my hearing loss means I rely on sub-titles - which is no great problem since the programme carries English sub-titles as you’d expect - except when the script is in English. Given that this happens when the French, American, Russian and middle-Eastern characters speak heavily accented English, I miss the majority of what’s going on. This appears to be just an issue with Paramount as the other streaming services give you the option of keeping sub-titles regardless of the spoken language.

Rob, if you do not mind subtitles, I can certainly rubber-stamp these two series, Paris Police 1900 and 1905, also Babylon Berlin. I would go as far as to say these two modern series are without equal for me, production, cinematography and acting 10/10.

We started watching The Glass Onion last night and are enjoying it.
It’s fairly bonkers and Daniel Craig’s weird accent is not always intelligible but it’s well worth a view.
