Mindhunter
It's true it's very slow, but good though (not really a thriller), to be honest the most exciting moments are those with Ed Kemper (some interviews and the last 15 minutes of the ultimate episode) ; another disturbing thing is the fact that the main actor looks like French president Macron...

The Sinner S01/S02
Very refreshing and disturbing TV series, way better than Sharp Objects in the same genre.

* * * * *

The Kominsky Method
Very average, rather for men who have prostate problems.

Kriger
Average good Danish series amidst bikers gangs of Copenhagen.

Nobel
Average bad Norwegian thriller involving NGO's and special forces.

Valkyrien
Good and rather original thriller in Oslo, an illegal clinic, some doctors and a survivalist in a disused tube station/atomic shelter.

Escape at Dannemora
Saw the first two episodes, a Prison Break kind of story, based on true events with ugly people, very good.

Origin
Average bad, some people in a spaceship, struggling against something trying to kill them...

The Truth about the Harry Quebert Affair
An OK murder mystery, but very slow, I wasn't impressed but some might like it.

Walter Presents on Channel 4 has some good series - they have quite a few archived.

Les Dames - really enjoyed this, Thierry Godard in a prequel to Spiral
De Prooi - enjoyed this, fascinating main character well acted
Case - good Icelandic series, enjoyed it. No sheep rearing brothers in this one...
Pressa - another Icelandic. Just started but looks good so far
The Border - good one
Magnifica 70 - slow going and rather silly plot
Dicte - average good
Spin - found this a bit heavy going

BBC
Mrs Wilson - enjoyed episode one, starting to guess at the plot but who knows....

I doubt it's a prequel of Spiral/Engrenages (two different TV productions (France2/Canal+), and the same actor Thierry Godard plays a different role in both series)

If you like French TV series, Le Bureau des Légendes is one of the best lately (although some parts are not very credible), 4 seasons so far. It could be the French version of BBC Spooks series (which was called MI5 in France).

I was using "prequel" too loosely here, as you point out. I'm a Thierry Godard fan - he had more exposure in Dames which allowed him to get into the part a bit more. His female police partner, on the other hand, was much more convincing in Spiral.

Thanks for the heads up about Le Bureau des Légendes. I speak good French and watch a lot of French films and series in the original language. I haven't looked at archived series on the French channels yet - are they on Freeview?

Ah OK :okay:
You can check Un Village Français too.

I'm afraid they might not be on Freeview, because, as Spiral, they're series by the private TV network (subscription) Canal+.
