BBCs - Bodyguard. Any one else had a go at watching it?
What a load of crap. Boring indeed.
Ah, I liked it actually. Some parts were a bit long or confusing, but overall very watchable. The bodyguard has a Scottish accent, right? (I'm not British, so when watching a British TV show I spend most of my time trying to recognise regional accents...)

Yeah he had a Scottish accent.
It was not for me, one of the worst shows I've tried to persevere with!

The insanity comes in when people inherit ungodly sums of money and never actually learned to do anything for themselves, instead working for the family business the day they graduated college
Would the name Trump fit in here? I believe he has more or less the same amount of money today, plus inflation etc, as he did on the day of inheritance?

The Bodyguard: good/average good
Maniac: lots of references to Philip K. Dick and maybe Kubrik, promising beginning but so so till the end
The First: with Sean Penn, very bad; 10% of space conquest and 90% of psychological mumbo jumbo
Killing Eve: saw it a few months ago, but currently airing, quite good
Kidding: good, only for Jim Carrey's and/or Michel Gondry's fans
Lodge 49: something between The Big Lebowski and The Sons of the Desert (Laurel and Hardy), a wee bit odd but quite entertaining
Iron Fist S02: as good (or as bad) as the season 1; strange ending though...
American Horror Story S08: good beginning
The Deuce S02: as boring as season 1, thank God, there will be only an ultimate 3rd season...
9-1-1 S02: good, especially when in need to unplug the brain
American Vandal S02: good

I'm not going to get political as that is what got me banned from another site. I work with ultra high net worth individuals so there are a very large number of people who fit that description, including the person you identified.

Golliath series 2 got a little weird, but actually thought it better than series 1 on the whole. My Dad likes Bosch, but I've not tried it yet.

Watched Ray Mears, How the West was won, on BBC 4 nice watch.

Then a switch over to ITV for Silk Road with Joanna Lumley, another nice watch. She was in Iran, what a lovely looking country with the ancient sites and markets.

Two hours of easy viewing.

I really enjoyed The Bodyguard, well apart from the ending. Like 99% of drama’s they throw a load of information at you in the last five minutes and don’t know how to write a satisfactory conclusion.

I’m enjoying Wanderlust at the moment too. I think it’s really well written, for the most part anyway with a few good tunes for good measure.

It’s had mixed reviews but I’m not sure what people were expecting, something along the lines of 50 Shades of Grey maybe? It’s a Primetime drama on a school night so it’s not going to be very naughty is it?

Killing Eve was crap! Very disappointed seen as Phoebe Waller-Bridge the brains behind Fleabag (if you haven’t seen it I highly recommend you do, it’s iPlayer at the moment) had developed it for tv. Sandra Oh who plays Eve is extremely obnoxious to say the least.

I will say that I've both enjoyed and been horrified all at the same time watching Who Is America? I find it thoroughly amazing that anyone would actually vote for some of the people that have appeared on the show. I was hoping for more episodes but I haven't seen a new one out in quite a few weeks.

Watched the reboot of Magnum P.I. yesterday. It was quite bad actually. The actor playing Magnum is rather common and has no real charisma (or no real personality); Higgins is a woman (which was a good idea IMO) who is a former British operative of the MI6 (she knows krav maga and how to operate a satellite from a desktop computer)... They get along so well that the spectator just wonders at which point in the season they will make out, eventually. Besides, the show was not very funny, just another (and rather bland) cop show.

I found the first two episodes of Bodyguard to be compelling viewing, with great performances from the two leads. After that, it went downhill with the usual compromises that routinely hobble UK TV drama.
Wasn't the Scooby Doo reveal of the female suicide bomber as criminal mastermind pretty lame? Not to mention Sgt Budd on the mend and reuniting with his wife after just a couple of counselling sessions. Feeble.

I'm currently mid way through Season 1 of Ozark and thoroughly enjoying it.

Gave up half way through episode 4, just couldn't take any more...
I'm guessing there was some conspiracy in the Government/Security services or some other such nonsense.

Anyone seen A very English scandal with Hugh Grant et al? It starts on our BBC equivalent tonight.
