TV shows you are - or will be - watching.

For people who liked Fringe, they should try to watch Counterpart pilot with JK Simmons and a great cast (the show is programmed to start on 21 January 2018 on Starz). As I read it on its dedicated subreddit: it's like Stasi meets the Twilight zone... Try not to watch the trailer, in which there are too many spoilers in my opinion.

Finally, finally, finally started and finished all seven seasons of Game of Thrones.
GOT is a flawed, inconsistent and often frustrating show. Not suited to casual viewing, and definitely not up there with the best TV drama, yet still original and sometimes thrilling enough to be compelling. I'll be seeing it through to the end.

I'd 100% agree with that assessment. Some of the lesser side stories are often boring, directionless and totally pointless... they try and entertain a lot of non essential characters with dead end plots. The whole 'Three Eyed Crow' thing is/was headbutt the wall stuff. But there have been some really great moments that keep you hanging in there.

Off to the tower with you all, GOT is awesome
The Three Eyed Crow will be pivotal to the ending.
Mind you I nearly stopped watching after The Red Wedding, it shocked me that much

Yep, it absolutely has to be... although I really hope the ending involves Tyrion taking Bron and the leader of the White Walkers out for a night on the beer/brothels before chopping his (White Walker) head off with a Valerian steel steak knife.

I binge-watched Godless this past week and can recommend it.
I also binged on Godless over the weekend. Excellent show, atmospheric and compelling. A worthy successor to Deadwood and Hell On Wheels.

I'm also pleased that SAS: Who Dares Wins is back for a 3rd series, this time in mountainous terrain in Morocco.

Favourite moment from the recent episode: after abseiling over 200 feet down the side of a dam into a dinghy, one recruit emotionally grabs instructor Foxy for a hug. Foxy's response - "that's the last time you do that". Classic.

One of my favourite shows too, you just know that those guys are hard as nails.

I just watched the most excellent children's drama Chocky which I enjoyed first time round in the 80's. Based on the book by John Wyndham (also excellent obviously). I will now watch the two subsequent spin off series and then get started on Grange Hill. :okay:

I read the John Wyndham novel many years ago. I never knew that there was a TV version of Chocky. I will have to track it down.

I have been watching Silent Witness and I just realised that crime forensics are subcontracted to private labs in the UK? That is quite odd.

Extreme sharpness is ephemeral!
I'm watching a few new series on Netflix, altered Carbon, The Punisher and the first two episodes of the second series of Jamestown on BBC.
