This is strange

Due to circumstances we had to rehome our Yorkie that we had for 7 years. About a week after on April 28th she slipped out of her harness while the new owner was taking her for a walk. Unable to catch her she has been roaming in the rural town of 300 since then. People have been leaving out food and water for her but the little escape artist has eluded them. Police have set out some live traps but we haven’t heard of results yet. I traveled the 70 miles from my home twice to try to find her with no results. People keep spotting her but cant catch her. Now for the strange part......she has been seen with a male and female fox and two kits. She has also, apparently, has been living in the fox den with them so the haven’t killed her....yet! I’ve never heard of this before. Any ideas?

That is strange! I have no advice to be honest but am speaking to my brother later, who is a vet can ask him

Much like humans, animals acquire friends based on reasons only they know. Many animals have inter-species friends. Her size may be beneficial to the bonding. I think if the foxes were going to have her for dinner, they would have done so by now. She may become a permanent member (I was going to say 'of their pack', but I'm not sure foxes have packs).
