Luxury! We had the ATG police knocking on the door every night. That's how I ended up with a beard for 30 years...

So the ATG police have just knocked on your door. They have given you just 10 mins to get together 1 razor, 1 brush, 1 blade make and 1 soap. They are going to confiscate every other shaving item you have on pain of death. What are you going to choose? Hiding, smuggling is out and resistance is futile it has to be this way only.

I wouldn't say it's better than other top soaps and creams, but it is certainly up there. It has a mild menthol hit, a mild but appealing (to me) scent, and builds a thick, protective lather with little effort (more than MDC or Meissner Tremonia, but certainly not hard work). My skin feels good afterwards, particularly in combination with the splash. @halvor is also a fan

If you've used the old proraso or omega then you've used SMN.

I'm now imagining people just stood turning light switches on and off, mouth open wide.

For anyone unfamiliar with Barnsley I'd suggest watching the 1969 Ken Loach film 'Kes'. It's pretty much the same now.

Mick, what I found in my digging about SMN was that it was exactly the same as proraso and omega when they contained lanolin and that they were all made by Ludovico Martelli. I haven't used them myself but found these (it's like a cut and paste ingredients list). Do you have the current SMN ingredients list? These are from about 5 years ago. They've more than likely changed.

Well, if I really had to choose only one, then it would be the M&F 3XL as it is a magnificent knot with a gorgeous handle.

Not having access to electricity can be a tad challenging for 13 months.
