Great find, beautiful razor enjoy.
This brush was a prototype that Lee at Vintage razor and Rooney were collaborating on years ago. The knot is cloud soft very moderate backbone, the Tortoise handle is nicely translucent.Off topic but that Rooney is stunning. One day I'll have to get an Emillion handled brush.

As I understand it, there is no Gillette logo or "Made in ..." stamped under the head in the earliest bell tube handled AristocratI went rummaging around in a storage area looking for a what I assumed was a Double Ring that I'd purchased many years ago to write a piece and ask members questions about this assumed razor. While looking I unpacked this beautiful 1914 Silver Aristocrat in its French Ivory box (the Aristocrat was also produced in 1916)....
1914 Silver Aristocrat with the Bell handle, it is this handle that distinguished the first Aristocrat from other razors in that era.

He passed away several years ago and my Mother wanted me to have some of his things.
I just was not in the headspace to open/examine until recently...
Having just removed 5 years worth of full beard and taking up traditional wet shaving I opened up the boxes.
First shaves were with a Pre-war Tech and then a 1962 (my birth year) Slim adjustable.
Just fabulous, and kind of nostalgic to shave with razors my Dad used all over the world.
Now firmly bitten I have added two British Aristocrats and a flat plate Tech...
