Dam thing says I need permission!

Weird I had it set to public but now that I checked it was back on private. I changed it back and hope it wont happen again, otherwise we need another solution.

Maybe update the instructions in the OP as well. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

2) Click Edit
3) Search for your location. Press enter or select from the dropdown
4) Press + Add to map
5) Press the pen to edit the title to your username. Save
7) Optionally, select the paint bucket to edit your icon

Yah I had that problem when I tried in an incognito window. Might be that you need to be logged into your google account?
