Tax Advice?

My daughter [14] is REALLY good at doing make up, eye lashes etc.. and is doing a few friends and family, basically for pocket money and to cover the cost of her make up.
She has just set up a business Facebook page to promote herself; I don't want to discourage the entrepreneur, but I am concerned of the tax implications...
There does not seem to be much information about this situation on the governments website?
Any tax folks on here able to over even the briefest of advice?

I was wondering the same thing as my son is now working as a lifeguard. He's 16. I'm concerned that his income would go on our return since he's a dependent.

Although they wouldn’t pay national insurance at that age they are as far as I am aware, still entitled to their basic personal allowance of 11k odd so as they would be unlikely to earn over that in part time roles they shouldn't have to pay any tax

Children under 16
School-aged children are not entitledto the National Minimum Wage. Children under 16 do not pay National Insurance, so you only need to include them on your payroll if their total income is over their Personal Allowance.

Same applies if they are self employed too

As far as U.K. goes I wouldn’t imagine she would earn enough even if she was over 16. Don’t forget when we start working in the U.K. we get a tax code that we can earn up to. National Insurance kicks in earlier than tax, but again you have a set limit before it’s payable and over 16.

Thanks folks, was suspected. I just didn't want her grassed up for tax avoidance by our psycho neighbours. The other thing would be "working" out of her bedroom... I mean were are only talking about £60 a month, if that!

Nice earner for her and fair play to her too, good to hear of someone with the get up and go. Helps that it sounds like an interest of hers, heck may be even a career.

£6,365 per annum or £122.40 per week is the threshold for self-employed NI to commence, so even when she turns 16 there is potentially plenty of leeway there
