Not tried it, it was changed some months ago for a non tallow version.

I found a puck on Amazon for a little over $11. Shows tallow in the ingredients. If not for that, it was available in the glass bowl for $35.

I have both tallow and new version. Both are good but they‘re different. The tallow version has creamier lather but the new version is slicker - IMHO. The old version‘s scent had a more prominent ‘granny’s purse’ note, but the new scent is closer to the AS.
If you shave with a SR, it’s not difficult to say that the new version is the equal or better than the old tallow soap. If you’re a DE user, maybe the old lather is better?

finally got around to using the tabac shaving soap in the bowl........all i can say is meh! lol
got a weak scent and just not good if im being honest,
i remember someone saying that the soap performs better then the shaving cream but honestly this felt exactly the same to me
ive still to try out the tabac shaving stick
i think the more soaps i use the more i appreciate arko, the slickness, the scent (i like it, dont hate! lol)
and also the price, i mean to me its way ahead of tabac in every department.....of course YMMV

think i was most disappointed with the scent as i heard loads of youtubers rave on about it and i know i dont have the most sensitive nose but that was poor, really poor to me anyways YMMV

Like I said my nose is proper crap at smelling tbf, maybe it's just me and tbf I did have covid not so long ago lol

so used the tabac shaving soap for the second time,
lather was better as i loaded the brush more but again hardly any scent
imho so far overrated stuff and arko is miles better

I am re-reading this thread and very much agree. I don’t dislike the scent, if it were 1/100th what it is.

For me, Arko and Tabac are very very similar in performance. Tabac needs more loading than Arko but Tabac ends up a little slicker. I enjoy both of these a lot. Perhaps you have fully dialled in your use of Arko and are still adjusting to Tabac in terms of loading, water, etc. I find Tabac needs a little more work from the brush to come alive.
As for scent, Saj, I don't know what to tell you... Tabac is one of the most strongly scented soaps you could hope to find. Are you a smoker by any chance?

nah stopped a few years back now
like i said i dont have the most sensitive nose, that might be it? really not sure
ive got a fair few tabac products to go through too
