Great news! I am happy with the 2018 TSN design loaded with fine badger. I guess that they can produce, say, 50 with fine badger and 50 with boar, and sell the ones that are not bought here in Leon’s web site. This is what they have done in the past.
I had one of those brushes and it was excellent, just a little too small so a 28mm version would be amazing.

Nr 4 fine by me. Also I think with those knot specs and the same density as the 2021 LE, it would make for a beautiful knot. I assume Leon will be testing the knot before going into full production.

From what I know, yes, usually they make a prototype. But I’ll ask to be sure.

Leon suggested the 2018 TSN (nr 4), but he is partial because it’s his design 😁.
I used that one (the badger version) today, it's a tremendous handle. Looks a bit odd, but I find it very comfortable, in fact one of the most comfortable I have. And it may still even benefit from being scaled up a bit to accomodate a 28mm knot, so it's certainly a very fine option in my book.

And I'm sure it would look absolutely dashing in butterscotch... 😀

That’s the color that pops more in my head regarding this handle. I’ve also asked about colors availability, hope to have answers soon.

I still vote for wood over resin. Perhaps in a wood they haven't used before? I prefer the weight of my SOC cherry over the resin.

I do like Semogue badger and boar brushes: they’re well made, aesthetically pleasing, admirable performers and well priced. But at the size of knot being proposed I’m out. Nevertheless, I look forward to seeing the end result of your endeavours.

I'm interested. I own 23 Semougue brushes and the style I like the best is the 2011/2016/2021LE design. This design is solid and feels really good in my hands.

My SOC Finest in cherry wood weighs 55 grams, which is always surprisingly lightweight and top-heavy for me (the SOC Boar in ash is 70 grams, the SOC Finest in resin is 80 grams).
