M. Jung New York distributor circa 1911-1920's, made in Germany #80, 5/8”. I prepared the edge for use using 50 laps on an Illinois horse hide strop and 50 on diamond pasted balsa. Post shave I stropped 30 on linen and 30 on horse hide. The razor is now drying all day on my desk area. Whew!! LOL. I need a nap.

This is a 6/8” Geneva Cutlery Corporation from Geneva, New York. The company was sold or merged with the W.R. Case company to form GENCO in the early ‘30’s. New York steel is and was considered of the highest quality. Any collection should include an example. This example has always provided excellent shaves.

Additionally, on this date in 1929 the stock market crashed in NY.

Wade and Butcher wedge with script, You lather well I’ll shave well”. I recall using tape to hone since that was the prevailing wisdom for how to prepare a wedge grind. Most examples have blonde scales. This appears to be the original or same as original box. Since Sheffield, England is stamped on the shank, I date is post 1891.
