Twelve or 13 years ago, I bought this NOS slant because it caught my eye as being different from other Bakelite slants I had encountered. The box and the razor had no manufacturer information or country of origin. I have seven slants in my shave den, and the Bakelite ranks second behind the iKon DLC slant in shave quality.

This is the first time I've applied shaving cream without resetting my face. The first pass went well but the edge on the second pass died. I finished up with the cartridge rather than breaking out a new blade. The shave wasn't as close on my jaw and neck and my face felt more irritated. The caster oil in the Xtracare aftershave helped but it still felt like a scraper went over my face.
Some shaves are a learning experience.

The P&B star noir provided me with a luxurious slick protective spice fragranced lather, which made Sunday morning shave a pleasurable experience, leaving a wonderful post shave feeling to my face.
Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Ard Al Zafran Dirham Oud EDP to the pulse points.
My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.

It is the plant based extra dense 25mm XL knot. I’ve had a recent regular XL knot and found the tips pokey so was keen to avoid that and so I picked the plant based one and I’m very happy with it.

This was the 2nd time I used this soap and AS combination. Not like anything else I have, but boy, I like it. My wife says she smells like a chocolate thing, I smell herbs (clove mostly) and some sweetness (and alcohol) underneath. Anyhow, love this stuff! And what is adding to that joy, is the fact that I won it in a lottery during a shaving meeting with some fellow loonies ;-)
