My S.O.T.D today consisted of......
Prep Hot Wash.
Brush Highlander LE2023 Boar.
Soap Stirling Glacial Spearmint.
Razors Blackland Brassbird OC.
Blade Iridium super.
Aftershave Stirling Glacial Spearmint.

Tonight I used the OC plate on my Brassbird, a two pass error free shave and I am now smoother as a new born.

10/10 shave all day long.

No Brush.
No Aftershave.


Today's shave is in commemoration of the brave man from the Australian And New Zealand Army Corps.
Who stormed a shore on this day at Anzac Cove.
On the Gallipoli Peninsula.
And all the brave Men and Women who made the ultimate sacrifice.


On 25 April 1915.
110 years ago today.

I was routing through some boxes yesterday as I recently moved house & came across this sorry looking thing that resembled a safety razor. Clad with soap scum, holding a rusty Nacet. On closer inspection I recognised it as the KCG I had bought my Son.
Heavily used he said, never cleaned it! Haha! He got it when that model came out a couple of years ago.

I tried a brush & a rag to get the scum off but it was clinging tight then I remembered I had a sonic cleaner.
Something I don’t use but bought for a ‘just in case’ kinda moment along with some specific ultra sonic cleaning solution.
10 minutes in the tank brought this back to factory fresh. The scum was coming off like smoke in the water.
It’s not as noisy as the video is sounding (link below), I guess the ultra sonic sound is interfering with the phone mike and making it buzz more.

I got a 2 day shadow so I thought I would give it a try. The razor is all pin sharp looking and loaded with a new Nacet. Give it some respect with some MDC Fougere & it was a most respectable shave. 2 pass, wttg / xtg & atg mix, it was very smooth & mild. For an entry level piece at the cost it is this is a great razor & now back in full service,

Dug out another oldie today, which I have not used for a year or more.Always have found it to be on the light side for me, though it is fitted with a good S/S handle, I still felt the need to use more pressure than usual during the Shave. I did manage to clear most of the growth but the finish quality overall was not brilliant.
