Preshave: Hot water rinse
Brush: Yaqi Bluish Violet 24mm Synthetic
Razor: Gillette Slim [H3] (7)
Blade: Gillette Nacet (6)
Soap/Cream: Floris No89
Aftershave Balm: Harvard Vetiver
Aftershave: Pitralon Classic

Normal service has been resumed, much improved performance all round today, perhaps I simply won't get the hang of lathering Trumper's. Much more noise and pronounced drag from the blade this morning. The BBS, 9/10 finish is not to be sniffed at but the drag and residual soreness sealed the blade's fate and it's now in the bank, which will bring up a new razor from the rotation for tomorrow.

Razor: English Gillette Rocket Flaretip
Blade: Sainsbury's [Dorco] (1)
Soap/Cream: Bodyshop Maca Root & Aloe
Aftershave Balm: Rock Face Shaving Butter
Aftershave: Federico Mahora No56

The razor rotation brought the welcome return of the English Rocket Flaretip. Loaded with a Sainsbury's (Dorco) blade the razor skated on dependably slick Bodyshop lather to deliver an accomplished BBS+, 9.5/10, no nicks, cuts or weepers. To coin a phrase which seems to have fallen from popular usage "I'm dolphin smooth and refreshed."

I prefer the Green Cult over the Telstar. The Telstar has more blade feel.

I found that my Telstar has a minor issue - without pre-bending or breaking a blade in half, the blade provides enough resistance that I can't tighten it so that the ends of the top cap and base plate don't quite sit flush one against each other, despite them sitting perfectly flush on top of each other without a blade (as far as I can tell). It's tiny, but enough to be seen by the naked eye. Nail test (try to flex the edge of the blade with a finger nail) shows there's more flex in the blade than expected.

If I break the blade or pre-bend it (almost to breaking point, so there's a kink in the blade afterwards), the issue is effectively fixed and the razor is smoother and feels a little less aggressive.

I don't know whether others have the same issue I do, but if they do, the above is a quick an easy tweak.
