Saturday 27th June...

Thankfully, it was a much cooler morning today so I went back to the shavette. During the heat, it was too tiring as I'm holding my body tense as I go still. No razor needed for backup today. Clean shaven with one pass and lots of pickups. The Derby Premium #2 isn't as sharp for against the grain but it feels much safer for the process.

The remaining areas of development are the left side of my lips which may be a grain problem and the bulbous chin. Eventually, I suspect a sharper blade will help massively here with both.

Super pleased again. Enjoy your day...

Occams Razor

Saturday was an epic smooth and comfortable shave that has me wondering about more expensive setups. No alum sting, no nicks, razor burn... just an almost BBS smooth shave, and it's a cheap-as-chips Yaqi Mellon zamak and FlyDear combo.

1.00g of Proraso Wood and Spice cream was enough to make more than enough lather for a full 3 pass shave. I'm.a bit on the fence about the DSC 30mm G7 brush though. It may be too much of a good thing, or maybe I just need to get used to it. No doubt about it, the thing is a lather making beast. Ill give it a bit more face time and report back.

They're very nice, and I bought a bunch of their soaps entirely because of the labels as I sometimes (often) do. I'm a bit conflicted about it in their case though, as it's (mostly? all?) AI.
Unfortunately, I also think it's AI. But there's also human involvement here, because you need to properly define the task and clearly explain the concept of the final drawing.

I have 2 "pinks" on the go and was not sure how many this one had done. The quirky Occams Tatty peeler handled it really well. I completed 2 passes then retired the blade.
A crackin' shave.
Enjoy your day all.

Saturday, June Twenty-Seventh's Shave Of The Day was on the edge of being good...

PreShave: nothing
Lather Gear: Omega Pura Setola whipped up Captain's Choice Eucalyptus in Captain's Choice Aquamarine
Razors&Blades: Shavette loaded with Perma-Sharp WTG cheeks & neck... 1959 Gillette #195 Fatboy loaded with Gillette Blue Blade 1.5 buffings WTG(5) aroung the maw AXTG(5)
AfterShave Gear: St James of London Black Pepper&Lime PSO

had the CC soap disappear and dry out... similar to the cream i recently used... they have well-water here... maybe the filters need a changing...

did the 2nd buffing as a cleanup... the Perma-Sharp blade was duller than we thought and had left too much stubble... we're smoof and sniffing good...

Have a Good Weekend and good SOTDs ATGSers...
