It has been busy week in Taipei, with every day starting with a great shave. Adapting to the FlyDear blades again was really effortless and the shaves have been super smooth, although closeness has suffered a bit. Still, an irritation free DFS is worth the effort!
I ended up using g the Mellon Ti and DS Cosmetics 24mm G7 with the coffee handle, with TFS almond crema for a superb lather. A 30 hour (with layovers) return trip now awaits me thanks to Typhoon Noul, which saw a huge number of flights out of Hong Kong canceled. Yay. 🙄

Microtouch TTO razor
Astra superior platinum blade
Leponix synthetic brush
Mentha Arvensis shaving soap
Afta fresh aftershave skin conditioner
Bod Man really ripped abs body spray

Warm shower prep with Dial antibacterial soap

It's been a couple of days since I shaved. I filled the synthetic brush from the tap with cool water and loaded it from the tin. The Chinese soap does a decent face lather and the mint was cooling. It works against yhe weather which feels like it is all coiled up and about to pounce on us with a thunderstorm. The Astra made short work of a couple of days growth with the first pass. I relathered from the contents of the brush and did a second pass. It was close enough. A cool wet washing cleaned up the lather and Afta calmed any slight irritation down. Bod Man added citrus to Afta's spicy notes. All in all a relaxing rewarding shave.

Its been a long time since i bowl lathered, saying that the Proraso soap is easy to get right. The brass brush is the heavyweight amongst the collection and a do really enjoy using it.
As per yesterday, the Kai blade in the Brassbird (in my opinion the best razor that Blackland has made, it was as efficient as its Stainless brother but also a lot smoother and not harsh at all) ups the efficiency and tiny bit of more blade feel but still very smooth and comfortable.
2 fantastic passes with buffing the stubborn bits as i went, i am super clean, and fresh smelling good, the Proraso Wood spice is one of the best scents out there.
Well, we have been together 42 yrs, however, we will not be venturing out tonight as the pup has been all consuming of our time. I am sure i will knock up something Mrs TC likes for our Dinner tonight. It will be basic though.
Enjoy your day all.
Happy Anniversary!

Monday, 27 July and Tuesday, 28 July 2026

Monday, Semogue Pegasus Mistura
Tuesday, TSN Final Edition 1/50 Mistura
both days, RR Lupo DLC, Med Prep 6 & 7
Asylum Shave Works Levante 3x milled soap
Snake Bite splash, Antica Barberia Mondial AS & Colonia

I should have banked the blade after 6. Shave 7 today was noticeably tuggier. And although both days’ results yielded solid 9+ shaves, post shave irritation finally appeared. Fare thee well fair blade of steel. It was nice knowing you.
