A thoroughly enjoyable shave. The soap sample was sent to me by @halvor and it produced an excellent lather. Cushioning and very slick. I will certainly be buying myself a tub. Many thanks Halvor. Part of the reason why the lather was so good was the performance of the Omega brush. Loads of backbone but small enough to be precise when working on the soap pressed in to the bowl. The perfect brush for the job. It was sent to me by my friend Kevin (@Boru62). Not only did he buy it for me but he took the time, using the fridge method, to break it in. You are right, for those who like boar brushes the Omega 11137 is a great little brush which is very inexpensive.I have used one in my rotation for a couple of years.

two things stood out about this shave with 'Ides of Fall'.. firstly, it was very protective, as I was expecting some irritation from repeatedly going over a couple of stubborn spots, but nada... and secondly, the scent... I adore autumnal, smoky scents, and this hit the spot, BIG TIME! Yeah, a lovely shave, that..

Some refrigerate the cup & brush, others take the brush out once a day and make a lather and then return the brush to the cold water, while others scrape the brush across a towel a couple times a day. But according to Italian master barbers, from whom the idea originates, a couple days in water is sufficient, and that's been my experience.

I'd lost count of how many shaves were under this blades belt.
I thought it was two but it tugged a bit, so I think this was the forth.
All said and done, it was a mediocre shave. When in doubt change the blade is what I take from that.

Anyone remember this shave cream? (hard to answer this question unless you're an old fox...)
Found it in a box earlier today and decided to give it a go early evening.

The Sheraton arrived during lunch time, weighs a tad more than 52 grams and handles really well. The butterfly mechanism is smoother than butter. Not for daily shaves considering my skin type and preferences, but a gentle and at the same time solid performer nonetheless. Very easy to find the right angle on this one, not sure yet if the ASP is a good match but then again there are so many different DE blades out there.

This is the new 0% 'Ultra Comfort' Nivea Men after shave balm, greenish in colour. Very strange if you ask me, as it is new product and fresh stock, at least in this country. It's also quite oily post-application.
