Two mellow passes. A 9.9 shave. Since that rough shave a week or so ago, I’ve settled into a smooth groove. Another brilliant result.
The Med Prep on 3 was a real delight in the Contract Tech. I left the blade in the Tech for another run up the flagpole next time out. Shave four with the Prep should be equally fine. They’re the only blade that I can use comfortably for more than four shaves. Truly, no other blade remains as highly usable for as long as Med Preps do. But I have thousands of others i like just as much for
their two good shaves. I tend to use IPs and Gillette Plats now as go to blades, using other brands, Med Preps included, more sparingly. Med Preps are like that super delicious and expensive case of wine you cherish and guard with your life. I’m well into my second box of 100 and am down to the last 50 or so. I bought these a decade ago. A box of 100 was $40, and frankly I thought that was pretty steep then! My brain wants to remember paying $25 for my first box of 100, but that can’t be possible. Can it? Regardless, they’ve increased considerably since then!
Sooo very pricey but most enjoyable. I may try to push this one just for kicks.
I’ve learned to not be fooled into shaving with pretty, SOTD marshmallow-like lather
with MdC. For me, that lather offered little protection. MdC is a thirsty soap. It literally and figuratively shines when sufficiently hydrated. Truthfully, I can’t think of anything slicker than a well hydrated MdC. There are others with better post shave, but few soaps surpass in actual shave performance, scent and longevity of jar life.
The Epsilon two band was from the fabled second production run. I have two
this one and a three band. They remind me of the sweetest Chubby knots you can possibly imagine in a Duke 4 handle.
