My Feather clone arrived from AliExpress today so I thought I'd give it a whirl. Wasn't sure how much of my face would remain afterwards but turns out the technique for shavette shaving seems quite transferable.

First note must be the difference in cutting power. Even the sharpest half DE blade doesn't compete and against 2.5 days growth this #4 ProGuard was brutal. It really helps around the curve of the chin though. Lips and nose clear the same but the overall finish is so much closer.

Would I use this blade all the time? Not sure. I think my comfort level may lie somewhere down the sharpness scale but where that is I'm not sure yet.

Kind thanks to @Estariol for finding the clone for me. It seems very well made and simple in function although I did drop a clanger by accidentally buying the all black one whilst trying to get a silvery one.

Following yesterday's better than expected shave with the shiny new Yaqi Final Cut Open Comb (FCOC), I used mostly the same ingredients and was rewarded with another excellent shave. TFS replaces TBS. I wound it up from yesterday 2.5 to 3, so a little more aggression was expected. The shave was BBS close after 2 passes and touch-ups. No nicks or weepers, and very mild aftershave feedback, despite the Layrite having a fair slap of alcohol that makes any shaving mistake you have made very apparent. All things considered, the FCOC is a serious razor. and excellent value for money.

The weather is getting cooler. It already feels like fall even though it is still a week away. The brush loading got a little sloppy. I had to contain it in the mug. I built most of the lather on my face but I had too use the mug to contain and direct it. My first pass worked it down to manageable. Second pass brought it to near BBS. Third pass BBS obtained. Afta mitigated the oopses and near nicks and the Invincible brought some seriousness and sophistication.

The Coria is probably is one of my all time favourite soaps, i always enjoy using it. The Mäurer & Wirtz 4711 Rose is a great match to it, i also knocked up a balm to match.
All in all a crackin shave today.
