Well, that definitely lived up to the name.
I didn't know whether I should be holding my pinky in the air or squandering some generational wealth while I shaved.

Speaking of the shave, I can only describe it as luxurious.

The quality of fit and finish on these razors is something else.
Built like a tank, hefty in weight which makes no pressure passes effortless.
It feels like a precision piece of engineering with those finishing touches that take ot from utility to luxury.

The rhodium really gleams.
If frodo had been given a mythril razor instead of chainmail it'd look like an English Aristocrat.

The famous barbershop knurled handle and TTO knob doesn't just look amazing, it offers exceptional grip, so It's no wonder it's become one of the most imitated handle designs.
And the TTO action has to be the smoothest I've experienced so far.
The tolerances would put some modern CNC machining to shame.

As for the performance, it continues (or maybe that should be gives rise to) the trend of vintage Gillette TTO razors being mild yet efficient.
In this case, it's to an extreme in both categories.
So mild that I would swear there was no blade in there if I didn't see the hair being cut through,which is a feat for an open comb razor, not to mention one using a fresh Feather blade, but so notably efficient that by the end of the second pass, there wasn't much left for a third to deal with.

Enjoyable doesn't even begin to describe the overall experience.

My soap rotation was set to be Stirling Christmas eve, but it's become a bit of a tradition that I use their Barbershop each time I try a newly added vintage razor to the collection as it just feels strangely correct.
It whipped up beautifully as ever for 3 passes smoother than an American G.I chatting up the local lassies with the promise of nylons.

Finished off with the matching balm for a silky finish and more of that amazing scent.

I've had my eye on this razor for a long time, rhis find was one of those right time, right place deals and I'm so glad it was because it's given me one of the best shaves I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing.

If you can get one, dont hesitate.
And this is testament that you don't need to pay a fortune to do so, patience and persistence with these vintage beauties can and does lead to so great finds.
