This is the non branded Conrad version of the most infamous Barbasol Floating Head from the 1930’s. The blade is an at least 15 plus two pass Astra SP/VDH soap/Aqua Velva. These are well worth the effort to find one. Even after 15 plus shaves, my face is near BBS today.

A SlimGem shave for a great day.

About fourteen years ago, I acquired a birth year Gillette Slim Adjustable and an Ornate Handle Ever-Ready GEM 1912. And with these two machines, not only did I take a peek down this crazy rabbit hole, but I tripped and fell right in, and never looked back. I learned a lot from the wet-shaving community and met a lot of great contributors along the way. My vintage razor collection is nothing to brag about, and it consists of the usual suspects, but oh, what fun it is. And so, for every birthday, I always try to make it a SlimGem kind of shave.
