Will be a disappointment for many if the Schick blade does not work. I may well test the fitting of the blades that I have before using it.

Making this razor compatible with only 2 types of AC blade seems like a missed opportunity. Was this clear from the beginning?
I think what we're seeing is the problem heads. I've read reports (and seen pics) of Proline and Supers fitting fine in it. I think it was DFS.

Yes some have had success others have not.Sounds as though Kai blades do not fit either. This could well turn out to be a disappointing purchase. I did pull out of wait list but Alpha did not seem to know that so I felt obliged to order..

I have a cheap Yaqi Raster V2 that takes Feather Pro/Proguard, Kai Pink/Protouch MG and Schick. Sounds as though this could be a quality control issue that beset another SE supplier quite recently.

Ordered one from Executive Shaving yesterday and a variety of blades from Razor Blade Club.

Hopefully they will all be waiting for me, when I get back from a midweek break and 3 days growth 👍

Hopefully the caps that Steve has offered as replacements will allow use of a wider variety of blades. What a shame if not. I notice the Executive Shaving website originally listed the compatibility with all Feathers and Kais. It now states just Feather Proguard and Pros. If that's the official stance then either an unfit design or poor QC has been accepted.

There was one person selling theirs, who commented that he accidentally scratched the underside of the top cap trying to fit in a Feather Super blade. Wasn't clear whether he was successful or not, but it sounded like it wasn't a smooth fit.

How disappointing. How does this happen?

Here's where I copied and pasted the original list:

Here's the current listing on Executive Shaving:

I think that because The Original Claymores were compatible with most blades, we may have assumed that would be the case with an evolved one. Appears that might not be the case which is a bit of a disappointment to many, and to make things worse some heads acknowledged as being sub standard.
Let’s hope it is Super Good with The Feather Blades , which are not my favourites.A lot of things happen which are far worse and may teach us to wait and see, but then of course unobtanium kicks in if the product is good.

Finally got to try the Schick Proline & Claymore Evolution in tonight’s shave. Short version is that it was an extremely smooth and very comfortable 3 pass shave that yielded a near BBS finish all around (around the Adam’s Apple and just right under the chin a few stragglers were detected after I had cleaned up). Face, jawline and everywhere else on my neck was whisker free. Two tiny weepers along the left side of the sideburn but, no irritation or discomfort whatsoever. Blade feel was very minimal but, the whiskers were being substantially reduced with each pass. Definitely a smoother feeling shave than with the Feather and I actually stopped once just to make sure that the blade was still in the razor. Really a stunningly smooth yet efficient shave with the Proline. It’s a shame that a few that purchased this razor can’t use the Schick in the Claymore Evo. It really is an excellent combo in my estimation. Few more shaves to really dial it in.

Great shaves to all….

Three days growth and the Claymore Evo paired with the Schick Proline again was a smooth and flawless shaving exercise. It was done in 3 easy passes plus a few extra strokes to clear the whiskers around the Adam’s Apple area. The Ethos Lavender Supreme provided a lush and super slick lather that practically had me almost thinking that the blade wasn’t cutting but, it was. That’s how good the protection is and the glide that it provided. No issues of any kind and a complete BBS finish for a great start on a Sunday morning. Just a great shave, period.

Hope the little issues can be sorted quickly and that everyone has the same great experience as you! It is definitely a looker.
Agreed. I think Steve at Alpha will make it right. If he does, this is going to be the sleeper of 2021. I’m wonderfully surprised at how smooth yet equally as efficient it is with the Proline. Primo pairing, really….
