Sling Shot Shooting

In the spirit of full disclosure, I haven't settled on which model I think I would enjoy shooting, if any. This is sort of like any hobby, it's possible to get a trunk full of stuff that you later decide you've lost interest.

Most of the slingshot videos are five years old which tells me this modern interest in shooting a slingshot is around 10 years old. A friend and fellow shave hobbyist has been shooting and collecting frames for 4 years. He even makes his own latex bands. Make your own Slingshot - Natural Slingshot Fork Selection

There is the traditional hammer grip and various grips used in holding the frames horizontal toward the target. Everyone uses some sort of round ammo and uses a target in front of a tarp or other container so that capturing the ammo can be collected and reused.

Some focus on targets and others use to hunt. My interest is learning to become better and share the hobby with the children. If all goes well, I might order another frame. For less than $100, I would be able to put together everything I would need for two shooters. There are worse ways to blow $100... :D

I am enjoying the process of learning how to shoot targets. It’s been hot, but I’ve shooting maybe 20 shots using biodegradable clay ammo in the afternoon.

After a month of doing research on Sling Shot design that I think might work best and be fun for me I settled on a Sniper Sling S-Pangolin which is made and shipped from China. I however had some questions since this video and the ad on the website had different types of sighing mechanisms. I decided to contact them and to my surprise I heard back from Min, the person in the video. Then I had another question, and he followed up. When I decided to make the purchase, I told him. To my surprise he responded with "thanks, and we will ship out tomorrow". For me this is how to run a business.

Just an update. New bands came in yesterday from SniperSling. I began to have too many fork hits. One person recommended holding the frame while standing in front of a mirror to check alignment. I immediately saw what I was doing that was causing the hits. Hopefully today I will be able to target practice. I only use biodegradable clay ammo. Over time I guess I could cause a mud slide.
