@JackHayter wow, man! :eek:
They look absolutely stunning! Seriously, the handles are fantastic. You were right. I haven't even received my Chubby 2, and after seeing this post, I'm already considering getting the Chubby but with a non-classic color handle. :o_o::o_o:

Today, I got my Chubby 2 Sovereign. I've often heard that the Chubby 2 has a small and uncomfortable handle, but I don't see it that way. The handle is wide and fits well in my hands. The knot is quite dense, and it seems that the density is just right. There's no need for it to be denser, especially for face lathering, as is the case with platinum fiber. I'll try the brush tomorrow, and see how it performs.

If the CH2 handle fits your hand then you have the better brush, in my opinion, as the CH3 knot is very large.

i have relatively large hands but the Chubby 2 is perfect for me,
I also have the 3 but find this quite uncomfortable in the hand.

Absolutely! And I wouldn't say I have small hands—I'm 193cm tall.
Before buying Chubby 1 SB, I was thinking about the Saponificio Varesino brush. But damn, it looks so huge. The 30mm knot is too much for my face.

Forgot to share my experience here.
After getting my first synthetic brush from Simpson (Sovereign Fibre Chubby 2), I couldn't stop thinking about how platinum fibre would perform.

I got lucky one day, I traded in two soaps, one lotion, and one shaving brush for the Chubby 2 in Platinum fibre. :dance:

Now, I'm a happy owner of two fantastic synthetic brushes from Simpson!

But, my joy didn't last long.
The Chubby 2 in Platinum has an uncomfortable backbone that makes it nearly impossible to use in circular motions on my face. While the knot is soft, maybe even softer than the Sovereign, it's really, I mean REALLY challenging to work with this brush. I don't use shaving bowls and always face lather. With this brush, I can't even load soap comfortably.

I tried to find some positives with this brush for about a week, but it just didn't happen.
So, without any regret, I put this brush up for sale on my local marketplace.

Setting of the synthetic knot is way different from setting the badger knot. Once I pulled the knot from Trafalgar T3 and set it the way I usually set synthetic knots and it changed drastically like it was totally different knot. All unnecessary backbone, stiffness and prickliness went away and it became comfortable with good amount of backbone and no prickliness at all. I'll try to find a picture how deep it was set.

That's a huge disappointment, Kostia. There have been a few negative comments regarding the platinum fibre brushes in recent times.
Does yours have a significant glue bump? From your photos, it looks as if there's a bulge in the knot up to the lower edge of the dark band.
