I'm trying to work with Mark. If he doesn't offer me various brush handles to look at for $600 - I will withdraw my offer.

Mark is a good guy and does dip in and read things on here. It’s a good way to see how their brushes are going, to gauge interest and also any negatives. I’m pretty sure he will do what he can for you. That said though his hands are tied by supply chains. We have just agreed Brexit and there’s loads of loose ends there. Charges for goods from other countries have gone up and we are dealing with a lockdown. He’s also needing to protect his workers and him self. I doubt any of his workers can work from home, he may well of sent a load home. I’m sure he won’t be running to full capacity.

Fairly sure the Isle of Man has close to zero cases and lockdown doesn't apply there. The island's border is still closed to all but residents and essential workers. Life is pretty normal, I believe.

Moves too fast this bloody virus ! They were doing well, but takes one person and that’s it.
I know Mark is a super great guy, and Simpson needs our help right now, I could easily wait until much later in the year, but want to do my small part and keep Simpson going strong.
It's my first attempt at a special order and I obviously don't know the rules and/or limitations.
Can customers choose a handle from a group? I don't know if Simpson let's us do that.
Emailed Mark twice with my request to just look at some CH3 candy stripe handles, so far no response.
Maybe he's already sick of me.

Not sure of the set up. Not sure if they turn the blanks there or if they just stick the knots in to pre shaped handles from another source. It’s hard when you have itch and really want that something special. Personally I’d give him a week to reply. He may even be ill himself. I’d imagine with your budget he’d been keen to sell you what your after. Never dealt with a custom from him. Only dealt with Shavemac for that. It’s well worth the wait to get what you want.though. Whenever I've ordered custom chubbies from Mark, I've simply specified handle colour and loft. I've tended to also ask for as close to fan shape as possible, as Manchurian knots have leaned more towards bulb hybrid in recent years than fan hybrid of years ago.
That may be all the handle selection they will allow "color only" - I just wish Mark would let me know.
Not certain why allowing a customer to choose from half a dozen or so handle samples would increase Simpson's cost, and I'm willing to go to $600usd if they allow me to do so, still the company is steeped in tradition and that may not be a service they wish to venture into, I just don't know.
Standard purchase from the website cost of a CH3 Manchurian is around $380usd. (depending on exchange rate)
Silvertip 2band hair that I'm asking for costs slightly less.
A custom CH3 is what an extra $100 or $150usd? so around $530usd?
Maybe my $600 is not enough for selecting a specific handle within a color range, right now I just don't know...
Maybe if Mark gets back to me, I'll finally have an answer.

Not exactly sure where your higher price for a custom brush comes from, or the need to offer a figure of anything. It's standard rod stock from which Simpson will turn a certain number of handles for stock brushes using Manchurian hair. The 2-Band SiLVERTiP will be stock hair and Mark will simply quote a price for a CH3. I've just been in contact with Mark re CH3 2-Band SiLVERTiP. There is still no hair available that fits the criteria for the larger CH3 handle. It cannot be ordered at this time.

To be honest I'm not disappointed as I'd only agonize for days as to whether I actually "needed" it, and then feel obliged to sell stuff to pay for it! Lol.
