Simpson Brushes Appreciation Thread

Any gentlemen here every request a Simpson special order brush? Well, I just did and made a dollar offer for it. We'll see how that goes. lol

Asking good Sir Mark for a 2band silvertip, this time in Chubby 3 (CH3). I've only seen "one sample" ever in existence - CH3 silvertip 2band and WOW!

Truly wanting another outstanding handle like my copper ice which was just sent to me randomly from a group, yea I feel I got lucky, out of every batch of rod and printing the handles do vary widely. I don't think I'll get that lucky ever again when buying a new Simpson.

So I thought why not spend a bit more and make certain.

Candy Stripe or Moon Java - an exceptional sample is what I'm asking for, hoping it's possible...

This Tulip below is NOT mine, but the candy stripe with green front, that's so beautiful to my eyes, hoping I can get a similar Chubby 3...

Right now, waiting for good Sir Mark to respond, we'll see if he accepts my offer of $500usd. I'll keep you fine gents posted on the progress of this purchase and hopefully have some amazing photos upcoming - my 2nd Simpson love affair!

Well this is weird...... Earlier today I was emailing Simpson's about one of my brushes and asked Mark if he'd thought about making a Silverton chubby 3 as I'd love one. Unfortunately, he said no. :-(

This is made weirder by my owning this brush...... Lol.

Silvertip 2band "gigantic" Chubby 3s - For Everyone!

Mark, probably meant - they would never produce a group of CH3s silvertip 2band for general sale at their website - but I'm only guessing...

Although I do believe (like any business) SPECIAL ORDERS are handled differently. But I'm not sure, this is my 1st time trying.

Make Simpson an offer they cannot refuse, if they say "no" - go higher. lol

I've placed several custom CH2 and CH3 Manchurian orders over the past couple of years, specifically for loft.
As for CH3 2-Band SiLVERTiP, I enquired into this possibility at the end of 2019. Mark said it wasn't possible as hair is set deeper in the CH3 handle and the hair length did not allow for it. That must have changed.

lol. Good luck. I love Simpson's 2 band Silvertip, its my favourite hair. I hope you get a chubby 3 it would be an awesome brush, but my funds are limited so I cannot/will not be taking your approach!

I must be the odd man out, I really don't understand the outstanding popularity of the Manchurian hair - I own (2) and still don't get it. But with the 2 band Silvertip, absolute drool, everything I always wanted in a brush so soft and more than enough backbone and most importantly "flow-thru" so the lather actually mixes brilliantly within the bristles on your face, unlike the Manchurian hair which seems (in my experience at least) to wipe away all the currently mixing facial lather to the sidelines of your upper jaw line and outer cheeks, ho hum.

I also don't understand the Manchurian skritch at all? How is that comfortable to anyone? What gives? I dunno!

Personally I like the Manchurian too, but have you tried a Shavemac 2 band D01? If not.... don't! Lol. It'll take your face off!

Tonight's shave just now ended and was so Simpson delicious!

Opulence is a wonderful soap and that Merkur slant with Derby Extra blade, so beautifully smooth...

I smell so good, and that postshave feel ahh - that's what it's all about.

Also, this collection of Tulips below is gorgeous.

Does any Simpson enthusiast know if the brush "middle left" is Moon Java or Purple Haze?

This arrived today following an eBay find. Very pleased with it - Really like Simpsons Ruby handle. The description was :

“This brush was released in limited numbers at the opening of a shop in Palermo called 'Worldhair Vintage' on 1st December 2018 in conjunction with Goodfellas Smile; the shop is now closed”

Any one in the group have one of these or know more information ?

Like the look of that purple one. I wanted a Disco and ended up with a ShaveMac. No Disco on offer at that time and none in the configurator but they did sorted it out for me.
