Gorgeous!
Antithesis perhaps, but definitely timeless. Today’s oversized knots and handles that would look more at home in a sweet shop than a shave den will probably not stand the test of time. Brushes such as yours, however, have been around a long time and will probably be around long after today’s fad has faded.
Hey Snap! I’ve just got a Classic 2 this week....
Nice! I agree, one of their better brushes... Small but mighty.Hey Snap! I’ve just got a Classic 2 this week....

Gorgeous brush with very desirable specs. Small but great backbone from that dense 23mm knot and super soft tips! Ideal for my travel brush.
I have a Simpson Classic S1 in pure badger on the way to me ... curious how it will work out. So far my only experience is with Simpson best badger.Pure badger is highly underrated. I have a Simpson pure and a shavemac pure both of which are excellent.
Let us know what you think. In my estimation the best value badger (in terms of quality, performance and price) are Simpson Best and shavemac Finest. I understand the shavemac Finest is a mix of shavemac Pure and 3-band silvertip. I must say that I prefer Simpson and shavemac pure over most 2-band silvertip I’ve tried.I have a Simpson S1 in pure badger on the way to me ... curious how it will work out. Only on close inspection and more noticeable in a photo than in person, there are the few random darker tips in there but as you say they certainly don’t feel any different. Super soft. I did wonder if they were intentionally used in this particular brush to serve as added backbone which this little brush is known for. That could be nonsense thoughNice! Out of interest... Are there many upside down hairs in the knot? I only ask as there are quite a few in mine, they don't appear to spoil the softness or make themselves known in any way but they are a little unsightly... Not had this in a Simpsons brush before, perhaps it's just part of the "best badger" lucky dip.

That could be possible, yep that's a Duke 1 which also has them... The knot isn't quite as soft as the CL2 but is it's equal in every other way, some days it's preferable!Only on close inspection and more noticeable in a photo than in person, there are the few random darker tips in there but as you say they certainly don’t feel any different. Is that a duke 1 besides it in your photo?
Yes, it's very close but just won't fitLooking at the size specs of the classic 2 and the dimensions of the Simpsons small travel tube I can’t see why it wouldn’t fit. Can anyone with experience with this explain?
Is it the handle width?

Well annoying!Yes, it's very close but just won't fit![]()
