Beautiful brushes!

How would you describe the difference (in feel) between CH2 and CH3. I've never tried a CH3.

I hope that my brush from Ben arrives in a few days.
Thanks, Stefan.
If you are comparing CH2 and CH3 with same batch of hair and only knot measurements varying, then both are scritch-free, but the CH2 has more scrub. I prefer CH2 knots for this reason.
Your butterscotch will be superb, too.

I have Shavemac D-01, 2-Band for 2 years and the brush still scratches me. However, I do not often use it.
I've never broken one in as I always sold beforehand due to the thought of all those uses. I want to make a determined effort, this time, but I have three. We shall see.

This week I used an old Duke 1 made for Gimbels and a modern Vulfix era Duke 2 back to back. The old Gimbels has been one of my favorites mainly because the tips are like velvet and it still has a firm body but honestly the modern Duke 2 was so similar that I doubt if with another decade or so of use I would be able to tell them apart based on face feel.

Sixth and eighth Simpson from the right:

I think the Duke 1 is from back in the late 60s or early 70s and the NY store (Gimbels went out of business in 1987) but I'm old and so may have it wrong. The Duke 2 is fairly new, purchased within the last year or so. Both were graded as Best Badger. The other old Gimbels brush is labeled Gimbel Brothers and not just Gimbels (on the far right) is a Badger & Bristle one that I found recently. The light butterscotch is a Coates.

Here is my three Chubby 2s. The Super I've had for a few years and it's a great brush, but I prefer the 2-band and my newly arrived Manchurian. I have tried many very good badger brushes, but the Chubby 2 knot in Mancurian/2-band (with the loft set low) is probably the perfect knot for me.

Love the colour. Maybe it's me but the Simpson Butterscotch brushes look the "correct" shade (of Butterscotch) somehow. Enjoy!

Glad to see the Butterscotch has arrived safely, Stefan. Have you had a chance to use it yet?

Very nice. I emailed Mark about buying a 2-band Silvertip just because i want to try one and see how it is. Possibly replace my CH3 Manchurian which I'm not fully happy with his batch of hair vs my CH3.
