You may as well. It feels as if the days of it being worthwhile spending serious dough on a nice motor are coming to an end, what with all the "no fuel after 20XX" and ever increasing tax, road pricing, cameras, no drive zones for ICE vehicles etc. With all the uncertainty around nobody knows what to commit to in terms of vehicle tech so running a cheapie into the ground isn't the worst idea.

It does seem incongruous. Years ago FIA required racing cars to be painted in their country colour code; Italys was red. The first street Ferrari was painted red, supposedly to maintain its link with racing.

My pearlescent white Nissan 370z GT edition....... A limited edition model that was only released in the UK, comes factory with upgraded suspension, dampeners, darkened Rays forged alloys and a few other bits n bobs and only in 3 colours, one of only +/-180 registered in the UK and only 80 odd of those with manual gearbox......
Only thing I've upgraded is the exhaust to a full stainless true dual Invidia Gemini to make it sound like a true V6....... The factory exhaust was dog shizer

We had an Octavia Estate. Unfortunately our experience wasn’t a good one, but we did get the 1.0ltr. After twelve months the turbo failed, from new. Then twelve months later the replacement failed as well. In my opinion too small and engine for the size of car. We have a Kamiq 1.5 Auto Monte Carlo, a very fine car indeed. Not up to Yeti standard, that was a VERY nice car.
