Yes - As it's so pretty :okay:

Excellent choice of resin IMHO: elegant & refined but still interesting. In hindsight I should have gone for Unique Bulb in my 400 too. Looks lovely.
Thanks buddy

I've managed to get it sitting at a very jaunty angle on my men-u brush stand. Can't help but look at it every time I'm in the bathroom. The knot really is something else, I'm going to love shaving with this for many years to come...

How was the shave? Lovely brush
There seems a tad more brush funk on this than the last group buy but obviously that will soon pass.

It whipped up a fantastic, voluminous lather which considering the standards Bernd has set you would expect.

Compared with the bulb knot as I said there is a lot of splay but again you would expect that.

Overall a very luxurious brush, it feels so plush when you are painting.

Agree with the slightly increased funk level. I myself have a remedy for a funky smelling brush, a couple of test lathers with Wickham's Super Smooth Sheridan's will sort out funk in an instant.

Used my flat top last night. Some points of interest:
No scritch
Plenty of scrub but not uncomfortable, similar to a soft boar.
It doesn't splay a lot more than the 2 band fan, I thought it would be more, given its shape, even though it is a DO1 2band. It is however more controlled in lather placement than a standard 2 band fan in silvertip (knot size 26mm) again surprised at this.
Once painting the brush is super soft. As soft as a 2 band silvertip.
Something that really caught my attention was looking at the surface of the knot this morning. I had left it to hang to dry overnight. This morning on inspection, a small wet patch was visible. With the fan and bulb knots you don't see this. I assume (with regards to the flat top) due to the close proximity to the shafts and the 'slim' profile of the knot. So it has made me appreciate that if I want my brushes to fully dry it takes longer than overnight, with respect to the D01 2bands. When flicking these knots to dry they surprisingly (bulb or fan) feel drier that the standards.
The main advantage apart from the visual aspect (IMO) is how quickly the brush turns a soap load to luxurious lather. The surface area is much larger, as well as all the tips being in contact with the face.

Having analysed the brushes. These remind me of Bernd's old hair, in that no smell exists from outside the box. If anything you smell a polyethene type scent which is probably the packaging. However when wetted the stink is apparent. The brushes once used and dried several times should develop 'crispy' curled tips. Time will tell but this is my prediction based on past brushes.

Very happy with all 3 will be using my unique bulb this evening.

Flat tops or extreme will feature in the next LE group buy.

I used the 400 3-band silvertip bulb to face lather the last remnants of some Mystic Waters soap, washed it off and then bowl lathered with the PK-47 Unique fan and NSS Moroccan Sand Olive oil (my favourite scent and strong enough to mask the funk.)

The 400 is right at the lowest end of my tastes for density but once heavily loaded with soap it was very pleasant. The handle is very nice to hold, smaller than I was expecting but all the better for that.

The PK-47 knot is amazing. Perfect size, perfect density, wonderfully soft tips - it's a Goldilocks knot. The handle has beautiful proportions but if I were being picky, and I usually am, I'd like it a little longer and a little wider to be 10/10.

Tomorrow I'll swap the roles of the brushes and see what I think.

Hiya, I found exactly the same with my DO1 3 Band when comparing it to 2 bands from Bernd. I would highly recommend the barber handle with a unique 2 band fan or bulb set with the current dimensions. That should fit your every requirement.

You found the D01 3-band to be lacking in density?!?
Perhaps lacking density is the wrong term. I find the 3 bands to be a little scratchy and due to the harder backbone of the 2 bands, I get more of a fuller face feel with the 2 bands. You can also opt for a lower loft with the 2 bands, when doing this to 3 bands it can seriously affect lather flow.
