I have just this evening used Spieck Shave stick for the first time - absolutely superb!
A couple of shavings bowl lathered. Awesome stuff..

I tried Tabac for the first time today, bought upon Nishy's listing of if in his top five soaps thread. But I really didn't get any good lather out of it. Rookie stick mistake of using too much or too little or what?

I have had luck with an Arko stick previously, LEA not so much.

La Toja. Outstanding.

Of all the countless soaps I've used over the last 6 years, La Toja is the only one that has remained in constant use.

Tabac stick today, it's been a while and I'm ever so glad I used it this morning. It's wonderful!

Slickness was at minus ten or so. Not a good shave at all. The issue may have been that I didn't get it all worked into the lather but left with soap stuck to my skin, I suppose. But it's not like I did two swirls and razor go-go.

...regularly use Tabac, Lea and La Toja sticks just terrific and on occasion Arko and Palmolive. All great performers, all tallow (La Toja debateable) and all good value. Each one has its own characteristics but currently Tabac for me sits at the top of the soap tree either in puck or stick.

Guys if you have Haslinger make a stick out of it. I did so with my Haslinger Coconut and it's fabulous!

No, this one is the good one. Face or bowl lather it's dreamy. Plenty of backbone but a lovely splay yet the hairs feel soft. My other brushes are dust collectors now.
