Blooming should be with hot water.
Ok, I followed your advice, and the result was surprisingly good! I managed to get the consistency of the lather as I like it – creamy but still a bit watery and flowing (I don't like when the lather is too dense). But the biggest gain was in the protection capabilities of the lather, which provided a lot more primary slickness.

Is it the blooming that helped so much?
This would explain why some of the Hags soaps I have with the same base felt great, but some felt quite the opposite. I bought the Isla Muerta only because I wanted to try their Bay Rum, but I was hesitant to do that based on the mixed experience I previously had with Hags.

That's right. You picked up enough soap this time, the lather is still airy for me (lots of air bubbles) but if it worked for you, it's fine!

It's the texture that does what you said, this is what I thought too first time I used them.
