Schick Hydro-Magic Design

As much as I love the Schick injectors, some can be opened for cleaning. It seems Schick understood this early on, but decided to prevent opening later into the 1940's. I know some might post that the razor is cleaned by changing the blades, but I see lots of gunk when opening my early E and later Golden 500 with the Hydro-Magic lever. Often this Hydro-Magic designs fail due to poor maintenance.

After each shave, I remove the blades from my razors. I wash them with soap and a soft brush, then thoroughly dry them with a napkin, and blot between the parts of razor head with hard paper. When I did the initial cleaning of the razors, I used dental floss to clean them.
