The Dark Lord of Wet Shaving

Pre-shave:- Cold Water straight from the tap
Bowl/Scuttle:- Captain's Choice
Brush:- WCS Two-Tone Tall (Blue & White) Extra Dense Synth. 26/56mm knot
Soap/Cream:- Barrister & Mann ~ Nordost
Razor/Blade:- Muhle R41 with iKon Bulldog / Astra Superior Platinum #1
Post/After-shave: T.N. Dickinson Witch Hazel Astringent mixed into the 240ml bottle with Natural Glycerin (20) & Tea Tree Antiseptic (10)
Tipple:- Johnnie Walker Double Black
OMG! I LOVE my Muhle R41 attached to an iKon Bulldog handle which I haven't been using it for a very long time, almost a whole year (a real shame), the whole shave was truly magnificent giving my face feels a super smooth and a very close shave as a
without any nicks or cuts or irritation and razor burn.
The B&M Nordost doesn't smell smoky or smoked enough in the background, because, I get more orange smell throughout my whole shave which isn't very strong at all.
A real shame for the B&M Nordost shaving soap with not enough smoky smell in the background to blend into the orange scent with my favourite scotch whisky throughout the shave is Johnnie Walker Double.
Johnnie Walker Double is a smoky whisky with a hint of orange, clove, caramel, spicy and vanilla, a good combination together with B&M Nordost and a very enjoyable and a magnificent shave with the Muhle R41.
As for the B&M Nordost needs to improved a bit further in the smoky orange background scent without the overpowering burning smell of charcoal wood-like similar to Stirling Texas on Fire which is pretty strong.

Razorock 400 Brush - TOBS Cedarwood Shaving Cream - TNNSER 3D - Pitralon Classic AS
Continuing my TOBS Binge. All of my shaves this week have been excellent. I know TOBS is a good performer......but perhaps I should consider bowl lathering more often as the shaves have been consistently good.

As soon as I woke up I didn't realize it was such a fantastic day: an intermittent drizzle and a diffuse mist.
I had stayed in bed watching a documentary about a colleague, David Bailey, and I hadn't noticed the beauty of the 'outside'!
I felt inspired and I wanted to use a Scheermonnick pentalogy soap, which has just arrived to me: the Delftse Donderlag.
Unscrewed the lid, the intoxicating perfume rose from the tobacco-colored mass perfectly suited to a perfectly perfect day!
The mechanics are those of her other siblings and the scent is very good.
The name that its creator has given it leaves me very perplexed: I cannot, in any way, connect a perfumed and cuddling latherer with the disaster of almost four centuries ago: I cannot detect in any way gunpowder, ruins and death!
And they say I am the weird one...
An excellent and olfactory exceptional shave.
The perfection of today's pogonotomic rite ... it was written: on the stero, the first CD was one of Chet Baker.
If this is not a perfection conjuncture...

3 pass shave and whilst not the densest lather it provided superb protection and was very slick. Ended with a BBS with no irritation etc
Immediate post shave feel was good but IMO not as good as A&E BUT once I applied the balm that changed and my skin is silky smooth !
No idea what they put in the balm but for skin feel it is right up there with my favourite MDC and far easier to apply.

Had a stand up Shave today, maybe a bit rushed as finish quality poor.I do have concerns regarding blade alignment, as I find the blade retaining lugs too shallow and blade loading is fiddly, and blade can slip off the lugs. Also this design feature
makes blade rinsing by slacking off the handle a bit difficult,as the blade is easily displaced,and a fiddle to reload.

Spent last night in our condo in Philly. I’d like to acknowledge Dave Saco (ECWS) from my Meetup for the inspiration to pull out my Colonial Silversmith. I keep forgetting what an incredibly great razor design it is! Kudos to Kyle and Kirk Evans of Colonial Razor here in Birdsboro, PA. I’d thought I had a tuck of Feather blades here in Philly. I did, but it was empty! So I had to settle for a Polsilver. Woe is me!! (Just kidding!) In any case, I do really like the Occam’s DE, which I‘be shaved with over the last week, but for me, the Silversmith edged it out in smoothness. One of my favorite shaving creams, Kapo, out of Bulgaria, provided a lovely protective cushion enhanced by the Grooming Dept’s Unscented Preshave Gel.
The Polsilver was fresh and sharp enough that I again experienced the total lack of auditory feedback associated with this razor. If I didn’t see the plethora of whiskers at each rinse, I would have thought there was no blade in the Silversmith. A bloodless, beautiful two pass face shave coupled with a single pass noggin scrape left me feeling clean, smooooth, cooool, and refreshed.

The Boellis has a woodsy, musky, citrus fragrance, and it made excellent lather, but my skin was left slightly red and burning, so perhaps there is an intolerable ingredient. I'll give it at least one more try to see. A very close, smooth shave for the first session of a Tai Chi class my wife and I are taking.
