Royal mail to stop shipping blades from april

That's the current rules - the statement is pretty clear that from April they are prohibited. There is no caveat of 'permitted if packed well'

From that suggestion it looks like the primary concern is for the safety of Royal Mail staff as opposed to a bladed article being ending up in the wrong hands.
I was once reprimanded by a Post Office employee because I had stapled the flap of a jiffy bag, I had to take it away and find some Sellotape to cover the points on the staple.
I also know someone who was given bottles of ink by Diamine, they then sold the ink, carefully boxed and padded. they were told that the ink was classed as a dangerous liquid.

If there is actually anything that came into effect 1st April, it'll be amended come 7th May.
Razor blades are a restricted item, so package well and send only via the RM Tracked Age-Verification service ... or pick another courier.
Remember you can now send via Evri & DPD and the Post Office:

Royal Mail is going downhill faster now. Apparently if they miss you with a parcel delivery they do not leave a card and call back with it two days later ! Thanks to the Ring doorbell I knew my recent parcel was around ! What was once an excellent service has been reduced to something which is unreliable and over priced. We no longer get a daily delivery and a card posted from one side of town to another takes around five days !

Same situation here, the postie arrives in a van for deliveries no more than three times a week. The morale must be at an all time low with the workforce, just down to a fundamental change in the way that the world works.
Very sad, we had the first pre paid postal service in 1840 and universal postal rates throughout the country, multiple deliveries a day and a rapid service. London solicitors used to pride themselves on seeing clients in the afternoon and having letters confirming action delivered by the Royal Mail before the client arrived for work next morning. Now I am hearing from every utility company and financial organisation, even my Council, that they are not going to send me any correspondence by letter in the future, the implication is that Royal Mail charges are too expensive.
As a small boy I collected postage stamps and learned about the geography of the world and its currencies, all things of the past I guess.

From what I can ascertain, neither EVRI or DPD will transport a bladed article. Has anyone posted a straight razor since this diabolical restriction came into being?
