Forum GOD!
Some of you will know. The Royal Mail lost a parcel back in April.
In the parcel was a loaned razor
Despite the postie coming to my door, providing the label, scanning the label and last tracked to Romford sorting centre (all trackable).
That's not good enough for a claim.
This is what they said I need to make a claim.
Dear Stephen
Thank you for your email.
In order for us to review your claim we will require the following:
• Proof of posting must be one of the following:
o Post Office receipt showing the service used, if applicable tracking number and the postage paid (unfortunately we cannot accept Post Office till receipts as they do not hold these details)
o On-line Postage receipt (Stamped at the Post Office)
o E-proof of posting receipt – email confirmation of postage being purchased showing the tracking reference and recipients details (the item must be showing on TES as being ‘accepted at Post Office’)
Once claim evidence are received, we will review your claim.

So the till receipts we receive when just dropping off (paid and printed via the app). Not good enough.
The fact you can track the parcel to its last known location.
Not good enough.
If you use the app and print off the label and take the parcel to the desk. You need them to stamp the receipt at the bottom of the print out.
Or
If like me, you have them come to your home and collect (which is also cheaper than counter service). You must keep the e-receipt (which I didn't and long since deleted from the bin).
Lesson learnt
