True legend, oddly I just read his autobiography, very good read indeed. RIP Skip Donahue!

It feel a marathon film session coming on. I've been very sad today, couldn't get him out of my head. he really was a legend. I've always felt man's greatest achievement was simply to be remembered and I'll never forget Gene Wilder.

Wilder was such an original and captivating performer. He had this otherworldly melancholic air about him.

As a child, my first memory of seeing him on screen was as Willy Wonka. That entrance with the limp and somersault made such an impact on me. I discovered recently that not only was that scene Wilder's idea, he actually made it the main condition for him accepting the role. When the director asked why it was so important to him he stated “because no one will know from that time on whether I’m lying or telling the truth.”

Genius.
