I was wondering if the rest of the country has regional food for bonfire night? Here in Yorkshire we have a few bits that only make an appearance at this time of the year. We have special bonfire Toffee that is hard and brittle (a bugger to suck) made with black treacle and molasses mainly served in a flat silver foil tray with a lolly stick in it to hold on to. We also have Parkin,a hard'ish cake made with oatmeal, treacle and ginger, great alone or with custard. Pork pie and mushy peas both served hot with onions steeped in vinegar and mint sauce. What does your part of the country have only for bonfire night?
