B&M sounds a good option and there is a B&M size hole in my den.

Barber Shop cream any good?

This is my new addition from Dapper Dan and it most definitely has that classic barber shop scent. Guess that's why its called 'Classic Barber Shop'. Ha ha!

Not too strong, just nicely reminiscent. IMO it's also a good performer, easy to lather with good cushion and glide.

PAA CaD is absolutely stunning. I couldn't describe what is smells like but it just smells gorgeous.
The soap works really well, loads of lather and the scent lingers for hours and hours.
I bought it from Shave Station but I'll be buying a lot more direct from PAA. I don't care about paying the extra charges for getting them from the State's. It's that good.

It is probably an excellent soap and sounds right up my street from what you say but from what I have learned about the owner of PAA I don't want to put any business his way at this stage. Anyway I'm not sure what was going on with his ego when he decided to plonk himself on the label!

Creating fake persona's in forums to big up his products, controversy over ingredients, general unethical behaviour. It's all there with the help of Google.

This is my choice from OSP. Smells kinda bright and very clean with a hint of citrus almost antiseptic with a small amount of musk. I also have the Stirling which to me smells like a Vanilla toffee vibe. I have a strange sense of smell though. It's very rare for me to 'get' a soap profile straight away it seems to grow on me and become more pronounced after a while. The good thing about the OSP like all the others is the wonderful lather and face feel after the shave, plus it is readily available.

The European Connection
I should note that the scents and products above call back to American barbershops. The “vibe” of a European barbershop is completely different. There the predominant scent is generally considered to be almond. Products like Cella* and Razorock p.160* would fall into that category. Another common scent is that of Proraso*.

I recommend Sterling Soap "Barbershop"

Ingredients: Beef Tallow, Stearic Acid, Distilled Water, Castor Oil, Potassium Hydroxide, Vegetable Glycerin, Fragrance Oil, Almond Oil, Shea Butter, Coconut Milk, Lanolin, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Lactate.

I got a sample from Shavedash, of this is wonderful stuff.
A Gorgeous Fresh talc combined with bergamot, mild cinnamon and sweet spice oils that are resting comfortably with dampened citrus on the top notes, there is also a vanilla scent intertwined within the scent like a candy canes.
I have found it to be a thirsty soap, needs a little more water than usual but creates a wonderful thick Lather which provided a great Cushion and Glide with plenty of buffer and hydration.

If you still can't make your mind up,
I recommend that you buy some samples from shavedash of the different Barbershop scent soaps and
find your own.

I used some Stirling a good couple of years back, to be honest there was a definite 'beefy' smell to the soap, i assume they have now fixed this but it did put me off Stirling.

Ha! Then you should definitely stay away from the one they have with mutton tallow. Performance second to none, but the scent, well, suffice to say you should enjoy being in the sheep barn.

Which scent has the mutton tallow then? I remember the days there only seemed to be beef tallow, now there is sheep, bison......
