Thank you p.b i was thinking the same thing possibly the baseplate was engraved with the wrong details, im a bit hesitant to contact IB tho as from customers who forwarded complaints to IB in the past didn't get any satisfying results from all the posts I've read on various shaving forums online.

I reckon you've little to lose by contacting them.

I received my 120+ this week, it's a real planer, impossible to shave with.

I wanted to report, i shaved again with it today and tightened the handle even more than I already did and man what a difference the smoothness is just amazing and plenty efficiency for me yet very forgiving , i knew it as i really really wanted to like this razor and im really glad i did and got it, so there is nothing wrong with the razor the error was totally on my part.

Lovely, lovely shave with the RC100+. Super comfy and still nicely efficient for my needs. The RC80+, RC100+ & RC120+ are a magnificent trio of the Recurve line up that offers gradual increases in blade feel while delivering excellent comfort & performance. I can’t speak of the non plus versions however, for those that prefer very little blade feel or minimal, the non plus offerings have also been talked about very highly across the shave forums sites. Either way one goes, there is sure a Recurve to fit most wet shaver needs and do it with total satisfaction in use & results.

Waiting for the newer NL base plates & top cap to arrive so, went with the RR RC100+. And it is never a bad choice regardless of growth as it‘s simply fantastic on the skin ruthless on the whiskers. Hopefully the NL versions will give something close to this great all around razor.

Used the RC100+ this morning that was a true pleasure in handling for today’s shave. The Schick blade gave it an exceptionally smooth feel on the skin with minimal blade feel on both cheeks & neck. For my style of shaving and what I look for, this plate size is the perfect mix of smooth, efficient and ease of use within the whole line up for me. I’ve used a slew of blades from new to a couple uses on them and the Recurve has never flinched once in delivering a comfortable yet very satisfying shave. A few weepers here and there and irritation that happened twice was no fault of the razor itself but, more of user negligence or getting a little to comfy at times during the shave exercise. In practice though this has been an excellent addition into my shave den and that goes for all of the plates that I own with the .80+ & .120+ being the two other alternate sizes. I have nothing but, praise for this razor with its unique yet completely workable design that truly delivers on what IB was looking for. Affordable, innovative and a very competent razor at every level of the shave from start to finish with extremely impressive results. For just a little north of a Ben Franklin (maybe a bit more $ with the tariffs that fluctuate almost on a weekly basis) one receives a quality tool that removes whiskers with some of the best razors in the business. Won’t work for every single wet shaver but, for a good majority of those shavers, it’s as competent as they come while providing exceptional value.
